Governor Nelson State Park. Solving the puzzle below will provide
the information necessary to determine the final coordinates. You
may wish to print the grid in the Gallery to keep track of your
deductions. You will be searching for an ammo can full of
stuff.
Geocacher’s
Race
Five
geocachers* from different cities all regularly compete for FTF
honors on newly published
caches. Each cacher
uses their favorite GPS device: Garmin, Magellen, DeLorme, the less
common Dowsing Rod, and one cacher gets his directions from a metal
plate in his head. Use the clues below to match each person with
their caching name, hometown, GPS type, and the order in which they
found the most recently published cache.
For
the purposes of this puzzle the Dowsing Rod and metal plate are not
electronic devices.

Dave uses an electronic
GPS and was not third to
find. CacheMaster was
not third, fourth or fifth to find.
2.
The Dowsing Rod user isn’t
from Madison. Andy’s
electronic device isn’t a Magellen.
3.
The Monona cacher uses an
electronic device.
GeoSleuth, who was fourth to find, doesn’t live in
Verona. The Verona
cacher wasn’t first to find.
4.
Bill’s caching name isn’t
Darth Vader and he was not the last to
find. The Dowsing Rod
user isn’t from Sun Prairie and wasn’t second to find.
5.
The cacher from Sun
Prairie found the cache immediately after the Garmin user but
immediately before
Erin. Erin was not the
last to find.
6.
The actual find order was
the cacher with the metal plate, FinderKeeper (using an electronic
device), SantasHelper, the Middleton cacher, and Cindy (who lives
in Monona).
Use the find
order to solve for the final coordinates.
