Geocache Description:

Look on a map and you'd think you can turn off of Route 6A in West Brewster onto Sea Street to get to Quivett Neck. Think again. The old road across the Quivett Creek saltmarsh is now a footpath. Still worth a visit for bird watching or just enjoying the peaceful view.

A quick, classic micro overlooking the Quivett Creek and saltmarsh. Quivett Creek is the dividing line between Dennis and Brewster. This end of Sea Street was abandoned years ago because storm tides regularly flooded the road.

This area was home to salt works in the 19th century. Archaeological work done by the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Wing Island, at the mouth of the creek, has found native artifacts dating back over 9,000 years.

You can kayak on Quivett Creek through the marsh to Cape Cod Bay if the tide is right. The area is a rich habitat for birds and other marine and freshwater life. Muggles walk by often, so please be discreet and replace cache where you found it. BRING YOUR OWN PEN.

There's space for a few cars to park near the corner of Sea and South Streets. Please don't block anyone's driveway.

This cache may be wheelchair accessible if you have the right wheels or some assistance. It's mainly old asphalt and packed dirt and grass path, but there is a small bump in the road.
