Geocache Description:

New trail with ups and downs, streams, cellar holes and lots of quiet.

This trail was opened within the last year, and within just the last couple of months, it now connects with the DAR State Forest.

What this means is that you can now either start from within the DAR (especially my Moose Run cache) and go all the way to Chapel Brook Falls (there are two caches there) or vice versa.

Or you can start at West Road in Ashfield, coordinates N42 28.383 W072 47.490, and go one way through the woods to Chapel Brook Falls (look for the white Ashfield Trails sign marketing the trailhead) and across the street, behind a guard rail you'll find the trail to the DAR.

This is a wonderful area for snowshoeing in winter.

About .3 miles from the cache, look for the amazing beech tree with bear claw markings running all the way up the trunk.

Cache is a former Planter's Peanuts jar. Please be sure to hide it carefully again after you find it.

Enjoy!
