This was a favorite spot of my Dad's to take visitors to see what a beautiful place the Vernon/Coldstream area is.
From the Coldstream/Lavington area, here are some directions/waypoints:
1) Turn south off of highway 6 onto the King Edward (Lake?) Forest Services Road at N 50° 13.197' W 119° 10.325'
2) Waypoint #1: N 50° 12.543' W 119° 10.477'
3) Waypoint #2: N 50° 11.903' W 119° 10.327'
4) Waypoint #3: N 50° 10.538' W 119° 11.421'
5) Waypoint #4: N 50° 10.405' W 119° 11.759'
6) Waypoint #5: N 50° 09.111' W 119° 13.423'
7) Waypoint #6: N 50° 08.636' W 119° 16.139'
8) Parking for 2WD's (unless you are prepared to drive quickly up a steep, bumpy road, with plenty of ruts and loose rocks. Make sure the lid on your coffee cup is on tight!) N 50° 08.901' W 119° 16.038'. If you hike from here, you have less than 1 km to go, but you will climb about 90 m (according to Google Earth).
If you drive to the top, the terrain rating for this cache becomes a 1, but I would not recommend this cache for children since there is a cliff very near this cache.
I got the waypoints from Google Earth and Waypoint #6 may be a little "iffy". I'm sure people will let me know if it's not on a road.
Once at the top, enjoy the view! The cache is a small Lock&Lock with a log book, pencil, sharpener, and some other usual sort of stuff. I think I forgot to write anything in the log book, so pretend it says: "Welcome to the HRT Com Tower Cache. I hope you enjoy the view, and the cache, as much as I've enjoyed others."
