Hollandia Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

At the new Hollandia Park in San Marcos

Parking close by and a well maintained trail leads right to the cache. This entire parcel including the High School and the Church was owned since 1953 by the DeJong family and was home to the family business, the Hollandia Dairy. This dairy has been a well known San Marcos landmark. The company still operates a milk processing plant on the corner. The trail that the cache is on can take you all the way to Walnut Grove Park. Hollandia Park had it's grand opening Oct. 13, 2008. It includes 2 softball diamonds, a skateboard park, a climbing wall, soccer field, and an off the leash dog park. The park hours indicate it closes at 10:00PM and the premises must be vacated by 10:45.
