Geocache Description:

The Municipality of Center Hastings, located between Belleville to the south & Bancroft to the north, is a small but important part of Hastings County
This series of 5 caches will spotlight the Hamlets of Roslin, Moira, Fuller, Crookston and Ivanhoe. While small in population they are the typical communities that make up the very fabric of rural Ontario.

Early settlement was a direct result of the American Revolution as some 50,000 United Empire Loyalists fled to Canada. First generation Loyalists and other settlers from England, Ireland and Scotland who came to Ontario settled on the shores of Lake Ontario. Free land grants offered by the British Government lured some of their sons to the Center Hastings area.

Come and enjoy the quiet, pastoral countryside away from the hustle and bustle of urban areas.

Enjoy !
