In the town of St. Marks, the St. Marks River Park is a nice new facility right next to the San Marcos de Apalache fort. The park has new boat ramps, a walking trail, restrooms and a picnic area. This is also the southern terminus of the St. Marks Bike Trail. You can pack a lunch, sit by the river and watch for manatees or explore the Old Fort and museum next door.
The cache is a regular size ammo container painted with a wanna-be camo job. Contents include logbook, camera and a healthy supply of kid-friendly swag. Parking would be best at or near the San Marcos Fort on Old Fort Road. It is a very short, pleasant hike from the parking area to the cache location. Please take a picture with the disposable camera so we can put more cacher-names to faces.
This is a cache near the water in Florida, so please bring insect protection. Some days they are not a factor, but some days can be brutal!
Congrats to Coinseeker for FTF!
