Peruskätkö Parikkalan Kinnarniemessä. A traditional cache in Kinnarniemi of Parikkala
Kätkö sijaitsee vanhan louhoksen läheisyydessä ja lähellä Kinnarniemen metsäpolkua, joka on pituudeltaan noin 2.5 kilometriä. Kätköltä on hyvät näkymät ympäristöön ja läheinen opastaulu kertoo että louhoksesta on louhittu kiviä rautatietä varten 1960-luvulla. Kätkön saamiseksi ei tarvitse erityisiä kiipeily taitoja, joten vaaralliset paikat kannattaa jättää väliin. Helpoin tapa päästä kätkölle on seurata metsäpolkua jonka varrella on myös Vaaranmäen kota jossa voi paistaa vaikka makkaraa. Erityisesti sateen aikana tai sen jälkeen ja talvella alueella pitää olla erityisen varovainen koska kivet voivat olla liukkaat.
The cache is located near an old quarry and close to the Kinnarniemi forest path which is about 2.5 km in total. There is a great view from the cache and nearby sign tells us that the stones from the quarry were used to build the near by railway. Reaching the cache does not require professional climbing so it is not in a dangerous place. Easiest way to reach the cache is to follow the forest path on which there is also the Vaaranmäki tipi-like hut where you can fry sausages or such. Especially during or after rain and at winter extra caution should be paid as the area can be very slippery.
