Corp of Discovery: 5K and Going Strong Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

badlands: Stopped by for a wellness check and indeed, the cache was missing.

I picked up 7 skulls but didn't find any other remnants of the cache. For those of you who don't know, skulls are Corp of Discovery's signature item which is why they were glued all over the ammo can.

When this cache was placed, it was a walk in the park, no brush. Today it was brutal. I came in from the south but exited from the north and walked along the highway to get back to the car.

This cache has had a nice run, thanks to everyone who has visited.

On a side note, Corp of Discovery and I have been regular caching partners for 13 years now. Many happy memories and many more to come.

Geocache Description:

On October 12th 2008, Corp of Discovery became the 7th person to log the Illinois All County Challenge. This find also represented a milestone in Corp of Discovery's caching career.

This 50 cal ammo can has been placed in recognition of Corp of Discovery's 5000th find.

Corp of Discovery is my frequent caching partner, friend and role model in the caching community. I'm looking forward to the next 5000 and the adventures to come.

A special thanks goes out to Moodygrrl for choosing an appropriate theme for the cache, decorating the cache and who is spending the next six weeks recovering from a severely sprained ankle incurred while placing the cache.
