This multicache is a resurrection of a
neat cache that once sat in the same beautiful area behind the
college, albeit circa early 2001.
This multicache was inspired by none but the original cache placer,
a geography professor at the college. He told a riveting tale of
how the original cache barely survived a forest fire afew years
back and had to be archived. Such a beautiful place, we thought,
should be shared, and so this cache is reborn from the ashes -
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you, Still Alive!
While you are around, you might be able to catch a glimpse of more
than just afew interesting animal species, including the
industrious Beaver (Castor canadensis), the Common College
Jogger (Scholasticus macrodactyla), the Tubular Bison
(Bison bison tubercolis), and the critically endangered
Red Deer Geocoin Dragon (Draconigenus geocachus
coactoris). Beautiful avia of all kinds also do make
appearances, and there is an eagle nest near the trail-head at the
weather station.
The first stage of this multicache is a micro, while the final
stage is a regular.
When the final cache is found, please rehide it well (leave no
trace!) and beware of muggles jogging by.
If you see a beaver working away, it would be nice to hold off from
barging past until it's done - and somewhat fun to watch,
too.
The best time to visit this cache is at sunset.
