Geocache Description:

Easy stroll in the bosque. Fairly easy find.

Cache contains a single-use camera with a flash - if you want, you can take your pic for posting on this page (once it's full). If you'd rather not, that's fine too There's a little switch on the front of the camera to turn the flash on. If you use the flash, please turn it back off after snapping the pic so it doesn't run the battery down. Thanks!

Cache is a cookie can with plenty of room for swag, geocoins and travel bugs.

The best approach is to park at the Open Space parking lot. The entrance to the lot is on the south side of Alameda just west of Rio Grande Blvd. On foot, head west out of parking area and pick up trail to the north and follow it about 250 ft. to bridge. Cross over the canal and continue north on the main levee trail. The cache is about another ~3/10 mi. It's nestled at the edge of a thick tree canopy in the bosque just off the main trail.

A Motley Crew!

Here are the photos from camera #1 of cachers (and their pets, apparently) who have found Kohavis Kanopy and taken the time to snap a pic or two. It's a scary-looking bunch indeed! (Just kidding )

Here are the pictures from camera #2:

Thank you to those who made this hide more interesting by taking the time to snap a pic or two!

All of my hides now have a "Kohavis Patience Factor". The cache page standard ratings for hide difficulty and terrain are fine, but often there are hide locations that require extra patience because of stealth needed, muggles present requiring play-acting, puzzle difficulty, time required, etc. I've attempted several caches that are technically very easy, but these other factors have made me abandon it and come back at a later date. These extra factors aren't reflected in the two main difficulty ratings, so I've created my own composite rating, and every hide of mine will now carry a rating from 1 to 6 which considers all possible cache finding factors including hide difficulty and terrain, which could influence whether you walk away with a smiley or a DNF "frownie".

This cache has a Kohavis Patience Factor of:
