You can ride your bike or walk from the Leelanau Trail parking lot at Cherry Bend for about a two mile round trip. Then park your bike and enjoy the walk. For a much shorter walk, park at the De Young Natural Area.
The trail is well marked and runs through mature Cedars for a 1/4 mile loop. A new fishing dock affords nice views of the lake and wildlife, and an opportunity to fish.
Thanks to the Louis De Young family, the farmstead was sold to the Leelanau Conservancy and is preserved for the public use.
The cache is an easy find if you use the hint.
