.....Here is a cache for those of you who want something to do while the others in your party go shopping. It is a search that will send you all around the outside of Haywood Mall. Upon completion of the stages, you will enter the results in the final stage coordinates, and use that to locate the actual CACHE CONTAINER which is a camouflaged match-stick holder.
.....Except for retrieving the container at the last stage, you can do the entire cache without leaving the safety and comfort of your vehicle, but, if you really want to do some walking, you can do the entire cache on foot. You do NOT need to enter the mall, nor do you need to leave the mall's property to do the cache.
.....This cache is completely capable of doing if handicapped, again, except for retrieving the container at the last stage. If you are not able to get to it, for example in a wheel chair, or not able to reach it, you can e-mail me a description of where it is to log the cache. (go to my profile to send a message)
.....The difficulty rating stems from the time it takes to solve the clues/equations. You should be able to complete this cache in 30 minutes to 1 hour. A good bit longer if you do it on foot.
.....You will need: A GPSr, a pen/pencil, paper, and some elementary math skills (or a calculator if you are not smarter than a 5th grader), (The calculator is suggested).
.....There are 6 stages, A, B, C, D, E, and F. Coordinates for solving each stage are:
A: N 34 50.901, W 082 20.156
B: N 34 50.897, W 082 20.008
C: N 34 51.081, W 082 19.878 (with special elevation)
D: N 34 50.938, W 082 19.897
E: N 34 50.874, W 082 19.951
F: N 34 51.118, W 082 19.984
FINAL COORDINATES: N 34 50.A B C, and W 082 20.D E F
A: Go to N 34 50.901, W 082 20.156 At this location you will see a grouping of multi-trunked trees. Count the number of trees you see there(consider all the trunks in a tree as ONE tree). MULTIPLY this result by the number of letters in the name of the closest mall store. ADD *2* to this result. DIVIDE this amount by *8*. The result is *A*.
B: At N 34 50.897, W 082 20.008 you will see a nearby blue sign for a shopping cart holder. HOW MANY WORDS are in the bottom 2 rows? This result is *B*.
C: For this stage, you MUST be on the TOP LEVEL of the structure to solve it. Go to N 34 51.081, W 082 19.878 COUNT the number of ARROWS painted on the surface of this level (include straight and curved arrows). TO This Total, ADD the # of LIGHT POLES found on this level. The LAST DIGIT of this total is *C*.
D: Go to N 34 50.938, W 082 19.897 From this spot you can see the entrance to a mall store. First: COUNT the NUMBER of WINDOWS in the CENTER section on the 2nd level. Write it down. 2nd: Add together the number of letters in the names of BOTH of the businesses close to you(Do NOT add the number of windows you counted to this). DIVIDE the total of the number of letters counted by the number of windows you counted. The result is *D*.
E: At N 34 50.874, W 082 19.951, LOOK West. You will see a YELLOW-ORANGE (use to be GREEN) SIGN across the road that lists some of the stores found in the mall. HOW MANY businesses are listed on this sign? The answer is *E*.
F: Go to N 34 51.118, W 082 19.984 From this spot you can see the entrance to a parking area. On the SIGN ABOVE the entrance, FIND the clearance in feet. Then subtract from this the number of letters in the name of the adjacent business. The result is *F*.
