This cache is located within a grappling hooks throw of the 'walls' of Kirkham Prison. It is located inside a 35 mm Film Canister and requires care in accessing both due to the proximity of the road and the degree to which you may be observed by passing muggles.
The cache is located in close proximity to a cross, which was part of a series running from Freckleton into Kirkham. I'm informed that in the days before Freckleton had a church of it's own some patches of ground were consecrated on route to enable coffins to be rested as people took loved ones to Kirkham to be buried. The cross marks one of these spots.
A good lay-by for parking is located at N53 46.635 W002 52 195. Please take care when crossing the road.
