The
Maidenhead Locator System is a scheme used by amateur
radio
operators for identifying positions on the Earth. It was proposed
by the British radio amateur Dr. John Morris (G4ANB), and later
adopted by a group of VHF managers, meeting in Maidenhead, England
in 1980.
Most of the stand alone GPS units are able to display your location
in Maidenhead format, please explore the unit settings sextion of
your receiver. The coords would typically be provided in six symbol
format: Field (2 letters), Square (2 figures) and Subfield(2
letters). According to the WALQ website, there are over
2830 such squares in Lithuania. Ones of particular interest are
that fall into a huge swamp, deep inside a forest or those that are
not completly within the territory of the state. KO23BW is an
example of a partial square.
The cache is hidden by a forest road. Make sure border guards are
aware you are travelling there. I was given a verbal permit to
cruis along the border in the woods but they warned me not to cross
the yellow signs.
The forest is so much beautiful with plenty of mushrooms when a
season. Enjoy!

The coords provided are only approximate. As with all my hides I
try to do as much sampling as possible, but seldom get a
professional precision. Don't expect to find the cache exactly at
the numbers your GPSr reads. Other than plainly logging "off
coords" please add your version of correct coords, this will make
your entry useful both for cache owner and other seekers.
Appreciate your cooperation.
