Geocache Description:

Come celebrate your love of books and meet with fellow geocachers for fellowship, food, and fun!

This is a great day in history for all book lovers. On this date in 1731 in the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia, PA), Benjamin Franklin opened the first lending library in the United States. Ben was a great civil activist in his day, and felt it would only help society if the common people instead of only the rich and the clergy would be able to have access to books. So he got together with 50 friends who pooled their donations in order to purchase books from England for everyone to borrow to enrich themselves.

This shows how a group of friends such as us geocachers can accomplish much when we pool our resources and help one another with our experiences!

Join us for some food and fun at Hoss's Steak and Sea House in Belle Vernon. Hoss's is a buffet with steaks, sandwiches, salad, and dessert. If you wish to eat, just order your meal when you come in, and let them know you are with the group in the party room in the back (reserved for 30 to 40 people, but can handle as many as 60). The event will start at 2:00 P.M. and go until 5:00 P.M.

Bring your geocoins and TBs to move along or coins to share.

The address for the restaurant is: 148 Finley Road, Belle Vernon, PA 15012. It is conveniently just off Interstate 70 exit 43, just two exits west of the Route 51 exit, and close to Greensburg and the PA Turnpike at New Stanton.

PAGA is a group of local cachers who enjoy caching for the fun and sport. We like all kinds of caches and allow everyone to cache in their own way. We are also a friendly bunch, and like to get together for socials to share our tales of conquest in the geocaching world. So come get together with fellow geocachers to share your own stories of adventure!
