Geocache Description:

This is a seven stage multi cache that will take you around much of the old downtown.
You will probably walk past the El Campanil theater, the Masonic Hall, the former Odd Fellows Hall, some public art, an art gallery, City Hall and some old buildings such as the A. Meinken building at stage one. Also there are many small businesses downtown most are closed Sundays. There is a photographer that I like to look at the pictures displayed in the window.
If your answer is smaller than the space available, assume a zero or two in front of your answer. example: 100-99=1 or 01 or 001.

At stage one you will find the coordinates to stage two.

At stage two you need to calculate the coordinates for stage three using the info on the white sign.
N38 01.0A A=77 minus the time limit.
W121 48.7B B=The sum of all the individual numerals on the sign minus 28
Note the phone number you will need it later.

If we both did every thing correctly this would lead you to stage three.
N38 00.9C C=On top of the mural there is a building with a word on it add the first two letters.
W121 48.8D D=Add the numerical value of the initials of the person named on the head stone and subtract the fourth and seventh numbers in the stage two phone number.
Note the anniversary this commemorates you will need that number later. (X)

Now if the plan hasn't fallen apart you are now at stage four.
N38 00.E E= The year of the new residents list minus 954
W121 48.9F F=twice the number of people next to the Phone Company truck (transients not included)
Note the people wanted for telephone operators (Y)

This should bring you to a public building.
N38 01.G G=From the white sign take last four numbers as a whole and subtract 821 and X
W121 49.H H=On the same sign is a list of three items of sporting equipment. Add the first letter of each and divide by 40.

Congratulations if we both did this correctly you are at stage six.
N38 01.J J=The number of cylinders plus 5 near the feet of Y (remember stage four)
W121 48.K K=Find the brick for the "Checchi Family" take the last three digits in the date and subtract the number of years Mary Jenkins was the Union Secy Treas

OK, if your still in the game you should be at the final stage so start hunting.

FTF prize an 1861 U.S. Half Dime (that was the first year of the U. S. Civil War for those not paying attention in history class).

I forgot the most important part. Thanks to Ake and Mist for Archiving their brand new cache so I could place this multi.
Also the recent archiving of GC1A53A by Smokey Bear Collector freed up the area. I've wanted to place a cache here since I started caching back in May.

Congratulations to Jadzea for the FTF . Took her about an hour
made a correction 10-31-08 thanks to CRZY4GT and TELLMEIF YOUSEEACHICKEN (Nora, Marcia and the geotweens)
