Geocache Description:

A traditional cache not far from a well maintained trail.

The name "Mooseshnook" came into existence in 2004 when I mountain biked with my family along #20 trail which ends at an embankment adjacent to Highway 417. Along the edge of the embankment we built an Inukshuk out of stones and added a couple of branches to make it look like the head of a moose. Hence Mooseshnook.

Our creation survived for months and we could easily see it each time we drove eastbound on Highway 417. To commemorate Mooseshnook we've placed a cache not too far from the original location just off #20 trail, close to the hydro tower corridor. The cache is best accessed by walking west below the hydro towers off of the Trans Canada Trail. It's a short hike and lots of fun for kids as the area has a large section of sedimentary rocks to play on.

In addition, we've built a new Mooseshnook! The coordinates are:

N 45 19.735
W 075 51.761

To see "Mooseshnook" walk northwest along trail #20 (not the well maintained Trans Canada Trail) until it ends at highway 417. Look along the edge of the "cliff" and you'll see it. There is another cache nearby if you're so inclined.

Enjoy finding the Mooseshnook cache and remember to look for the REAL Mooseshnook when you drive Eastbound along Highway 417.
