Geocache Description:

Did you know that there is a forest on Guam? If you did then you know where this cache is. If you did not know that there was a forest on Guam, then you now have a chance to go strolling in a forest when you log this cache. This forest is alive and well and has been growing on Guam for the last 19 years. The forest's 19th birthday is next month.

In order to safeguard the future of the precious coral reefs on the island of Guam, the members of the YBC Boys and Girls Ship planted the Forest of Yamagata. The planting was sponsored by the Yamagata Shimbun, Yamagata Broadcasting (YBC) , Yamagata Televsion (YIS) in co-operation wiht the government of Guam. The forest was dedicated with the prayer for the preserving of the global environment and for international peace.
