This cache is placed for multiple reasons:
My one year anniversary. On Nov 4 2007 I found Can't Hold a Candle to This. I am no longer a Freshman. I treated myself to a Premium Membership and may even splurge on a new GPSr.
My 100th find was “The Cache is in the Mail“. I love the hunt when I have the time.
For Chip "The Wonder Dog" :
My son was born in 1982 and as he got older he kept bugging me for a dog. I was in the Air Force at the time and told him he would get his dog when we settled down in one place. In 1990 we came to Carswell AFB where I knew I would retire, so we bought a house and almost immediately my wife got my son a Border Collie. He name it Chip The Wonder Dog. Across the street and down a little ways from this cache there used to be picnic tables and it wasn't blocked off to traffic. Chip and my son had great times there with frisbees and tennis balls while I burnt hamburgers and hotdogs.
We had to put Chip to sleep back in 2000 and every time I pass through here I have flash backs. Two vivid memories are the look on a 7 year old boys face when he gets his first dog and that same face at the age of 18 with tears of grief.
I used to be one of those people that would laugh at someone for crying over the death of a pet. "It's just a dog" I would say. Well, here’s to Chip and to all the other "pets" out there.
I have another Border Collie that is eight years old (yes I got another one to replace Chip) that we are starting to treat for Heart Worms. Who knows how that will turn out.
His name……..Oreo. LOL
I put a little time into this, so let me know the pros and cons. This is only my second cache and I'm open to any and all comments. The cache itself is VERY well camoed thus the 3 dfficulty. Do not look at the hint unless you are completely stumped.
