Election Day Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

D-gang: Archiving this one. Too bad, it's a really neat location, but a very high muggle area. Container has already be replaced several times.

Thanks to everyone who visited the location, whether you had a successful find or not.

Geocache Description:

New/different style container, then previous. Replaced 3/24/10. Log only, no room for anything else. Bring your own Pen. I have increased the difficulty 1/2 notch because of the new container.

Well, the title really has nothing to do with the actual cache or its location, but it was originally hidden on Election Day, 11/4/08, right after I voted nearby.

Here is some history that does pertain to the cache location:

In 1858 New Hampshire native George Burt moved to Lawrence and purchased 160 acres surrounding this area. While farming and servicing stagecoaches along the California Trail, he sold half his claim to his friend, Henry T. Davis. On August 21st, 1863 Burt awoke to murder and mayhem. Quantrill and 300 of his bushwhackers which included Frank and Jesse James, and Cole Younger attacked Lawrence burning more than 80 buildings and murdering 150 men and boys including Burt. Henry T. Davis, his wife and family were buried in this family cemetery.

Now you also know how the establishment nearby got its name.

This will require some stealth.

Congrats to Ravens, Mollymonster & Mooch 25 on their co-FTF's. Not only was it dark, but raining too!
