The village Mostec lies on the left bank of the river Sava, between Brezice and Dobova. It is accesible only through three bridges on land (that's how the village got it's name - "most" in Slovenian means bridge) or by "brod" (a type of boat) across the river Sava. Brod is also the last of this type of boats on the river Sava and it connects the lands Štajerska and Kranjska and also the village Mostec with the thermal resort Terme Catez across the river.
