Geocache Description:

A very quick cache and dash at the east end of Banchory

Our no.2 cat, Bonkle, was 4 years old when we moved to Banchory, and apart from visits to the cattery, had never left our city centre flat.

We were surprised, but pleased, when she took to the great outdoors as enthusiastically as she did. It wasn't long before all sorts of poor beasts were being brought back home, as gifts. From moths to rabbits, we have seen it, and cleaned up after, it all.

Bonkle's adventures got more adventurous over time. She would stay out all night, then two nights, then three. When she started dissapearing for five nights at a time, we began to wonder what she got up, where she went. Was someone else feeding her ? Was she managing to get locked in sheds or garages ?

No. She was hunting.

It was by chance that one day on my way to work, I spotted Bonkle's unmistakable black and white, sitting on a fence post, near the cache site. Since then, when she last went missing for a long time (7 days), we didn't worry too much, just walked down here, shouted for her, and she appeared, happy and well fed.

Since then we have spotted other cats enjoying the field, sharing it with the cows.

The cache is a small lock-n-lock box.

There are a few easy parking places near the cache, none of which are on the main road. Please re-hide the cache carefully, as this is a busy dog walking route. And get this cache while you can - we understand a certain supermarket will be moving into this field in the future.

Where will the cats hunt then ? The fishmongers counter, probably.
