Geocache Description:

A micro hidden just off a public walking path along the Allegheny River, Strip District, Pittsburgh, PA. BYOP. No trade or signature items, please.

This cache is in an area where I frequent often; I work nearby. You will get a great view of the Allegheny River, and a look at the location of cache GCXQQV across and the river slightly upstream.

BE CAREFUL

the cache is close to the river bluff edge. There is a guard rail, but be careful about approaching the edge. The cache is within the bluff area, you will not have to go anywhere near the river. The Strip District of Pittsburgh is an old industrial area which became the produce and meat terminal for the city. In the late 20th century, a vibrant night life arose in the Strip, and now, in the 21st century, it is becoming an urban residential and hi-tech business area. It is a great place to visit, work and live! Be sure to visit the multitude of stores, restaurants and pubs along Penn and Smallman. This is the eastern end of a rail-to-trail that runs from the Point (Allegheny-Monongahela-Ohio River confluence) east. The trail is a bit spotty this far east, but still walkable all the way to downtown.

Parking is easy and close, but this is not a park-and-grab. I have supplied a possible area as a waypoint - I am pretty sure it is public easement since it is adjoining a public street. Also, there are no signs. Do not park in the paved lot at the end of the street.

Watch for muggles - they can be found anytime! There is a large factory building about a block away that has been converted to apartments, and the grassy "park" that you will see is the dog run area for the building (Hence the cache name.) The muggles and their pets will see you on the trail, but will be out of sight when you get close to the cache. You should not attempt this at night. There are no lights anywhere close. *** Update *** I changed the container and coords to a key holder in more typical place. I got tired of replacing dropped containers.
