Geocache Description:

Hidden in Palm Grove on Mount Tamborine - a less well known section of National Park. You will be rewarded with a fantastic view towards the Gold Coast and a great spot to enjoy it.

Park at the Palm Grove section S27 55.613 E153 12.410.

There are 2 interconnected trails here - you can do a big loop of around 8km by taking in both. It's a great walk, with some seriously big trees and palms giving it a real primeval feel.

If time is limited, you can get to the cache and back in about an hour (approx 3km) by walking back along to the beginning of Palm Grove Ave and entering the NP using a sneaky hidden entrance at S 27° 55.510 E 153° 12.490. Head down the easement between the properties turn left when you meet the main loop track. We recommend doing the full circuit though as you'll miss out on some awesome sights if you don't.

As you approach GZ, you'll need to duck off the main trail and go up some steps. When we placed the cache the path was open, but it appears to have been closed now as the path is apparently unstable further along. However the cache is only 50m along the path and the views make it worth the risk. But it's not recommended for very small kids as there is a steep drop-off at GZ without any rails.

You'll discover why the cache is called Burrawang Big Log when you find it !

Cache is a 1.2 litre Systema container with usual swapping goodies.
