Geocache Description:

My wife and I started to host at Fishermen’s Bend in 08’, now I'm the park Ranger and love it here. With miles of trails and lots of activities at the camp it‘s the perfect place for fun and adventure, both of us have been organizing the children's activity programs and a treasure hunt bingo game here at the park and based this cache on some of our programs. This cache will tour you around the park and will include a few surpises along the way.

To get started you have to go to the park, the coordinates are for the front gate where your adventure will begin. From the entrance you will find the coordinates based on numbers you find around the park. There are two ways to find the numbers, one way is to follow the directions around the park like a treasure map to get the final coords (my favorite) or use the coords to take you to the locations quickly. Regardless which way you choose I suggest you get a map of the campground or in the off season look at the maps located around the park for directions. Host’s and ranger’s will be more then happy to help, and extra copies of this cache hunt are available at the office during the season. This can be quite a hike especially during the off season when several gates are closed. Please do not park on any of the roads or campsites there is free parking at the office, east of the amphitheater & nature trail, and at the day use area near the launch ramp. Also for you peddlers this cache is bicycle friendly and is a great ride.

You have started at the “front gate” don’t be shocked when you find the BLM sticker RO XXX-XXX. To start the coords take the second number and use it for the first 3 blanks of your North coords, then use the fourth number for the fourth blank. Continue toward the amphitheater and walk north up the nature trail and keep a lookout for the “old hidden footbridge to nowhere” on the footbridge is a scout troop plaque take the scout troop number and subtract 11 to get your last 3 North coords.

Now for your West coords, go to the Cottonwoods group shelter from there go NE toward a drinking fountain then look around for a yellow plate “think old Oregon plates” the third and forth numbers will get you started. Head on over to the Camp Loop, the right way, to find the River Trail and Recycle signs TOGETHER, continue past the signs to the next campsite and that site # is your next 2 numbers. Now walk toward the river on the river trail you just passed and look for the “crossroads” then for the “sign of nothing” where there is at least a number on it which will get you closer to the cache. For now continue toward the river, to the “Lookout” once there look for a survey marker in the cement, how many times does it have a "L" on it? That’s the next coord number. Now continue NW along the river to a “Trail Map” near there is a faded numbered post and the last number to the coords.

Note…..all coords are loose and designed to get you to the area, you must use the hints to find the final coords.
