Chase Brook Park is a very pretty, but small park off Rte 28 that
is hardly used. We would encourage all to sit and enjoy the view of
Mill Creek Marsh. The cache is micro in size and hopefully, a
challenging find.
Cape Cod salt marshes are home to many pair of osprey. Yarmouth has
several osprey nesting poles with platforms for nesting pairs to
live and raise their young. Also called the fish or sea hawk, this
bird-of-prey is a diurnal, fish-eating raptor. Unlike birds-of-prey
that camouflage their homes in trees osprey are happy to nest out
in the open salt marshes. Nests are constructed of sticks, seaweed,
and driftwood; just about anything the osprey can find. Migratory
birds, ospreys return to Cape Cod during April and May. They summer
with us here and return south (as far as South America) in the
fall.
