Geocache Description:

Located on beautiful Lake Ft. Smith. You will need a boat for this one! Trolling motor a plus! FTF gets $5 in pirate gold!

This is a regular size ammo can located on land, but only accessible by water. The park superintendent told us he thought this is a spot where they found indian remains when they excavated here for the new lake to be built. We chose this spot because of the beautiful scenery and waterfall nearby. This cache is dedicated to my father, Fire Chief Terry Bassham, who helped us place the cache before he passed away. He loved adventures and we will miss him dearly.

You should be able to pull your boat right up to the shore and after a short hike, the cache will be in hand. It should be located high enough where washing away will never happen if placed back properly.

Watch out for dead trees and stumps in the water, so you don't hurt your boat.

We have noticed that Google Maps shows the location of the old park, not the new one. The two lakes are now combined into one big lake.
