Geocache Description:

After seeing some great marshmallow toasting skills recently at a downtown event, we'd like to invite all cachers for a BBQ, Campfire, and Overnight campout at Omana Farm Park .

KiwiLeon and GreenBLAT are aiming for combined total of 1000 caches finds by then, if we needed a reason for celebrating!

This event is timed for Waitangi weekend in a picturesque Auckland Regional Council park.

There will be a preview of new cache in the park with some extra waypoints thrown for some extra caching entertainment during the afternoon - KiwiLeon will be handing out the cache sheets for this.

The BBQ will be fired up starting at about 4:30pm . Please bring your food to grill, and a salad or side dish to share, along with plates, cutlery etc and something to sit on.

The gates remain open until 8:30pm .

Sorry but Fido will have to miss this one. Dogs are prohibited from the farmed areas, campsites and picnic areas in the Park.

But wait there's more...

for those opting to stay on and join those of us camping overnight, just a few hundred meters away is the park campsite. Please book your site through the ARC. Details of the facilities, charges, and booking instructions are on their website at (visit link)

There is a stack of room and not too late to book.

The campsite features a campfire area, so fire restrictions permitting, we will put those marshmallow toasting skills to practice and spin a few caching stories until late hours.

Please bring any Travel Bugs and Geocoins for others to enjoy and if you want some Travel Bugs and Geocoins to travel please bring them along too.

All are welcome, Come One, Come All

We would appreciate early logging of interest, even if tentative at this stage, so we can get an idea of numbers.

If anyone wants to attend but has logistical difficulties such as transport or camping gear, log a note and anyone who can help out please respond. If you are lost or need further info on the day, txt or phone GreenBLAT (Alan) on 021 315028.
