*****Congrats to SBK & Wingit for a Frigid FTF***Don't forget the coordinates for Heron Pond!!!In Essex, drive down River Road and turn onto Hudson Lane. Parking for 2-3 vehicles along the curb at the preserve sign (coordinates provided). Open dawn to dusk. Short loop hike, about one half mile, with a steep elevation change, two brook crossings; nice rock feature near the top. Container is a plastic screw lid bottle.
Welcome to my ELT geocache series. I have gone on several preserve hikes in the past sponsored by the Essex Land Trust and would like to share these wonderful “pocket parks” with my fellow geocachers. The ELT preserve trails are all generally easy to follow with colored markers on the trees. There are a total of five caches in this series, each in its own preserve: James Glen, Tiley Pratt Pond, Windswept Ridge, Fern Ledge, and Heron Pond. The whole series could probably be completed in 4-5 hours, if you’re so inclined. Have fun!
