**************** Congratulations to Firefighter Skippy for a Frigid FTF!**************** Don't forget the coordinates for Heron Pond!!!In Ivoryton, up Mares Hill Road to Old Dobbin Lane, Windswept Ridge Road, and Windmere Way. Parking for 2-3 vehicles at preserve sign (coordinates provided). Open dawn to dusk. About a half mile round trip with typical ridge elevation changes; bottom may be muddy/swampy. Container is small and round with some goodies.
Welcome to my ELT geocache series. I have gone on several preserve hikes in the past sponsored by the Essex Land Trust and would like to share these wonderful “pocket parks” with my fellow geocachers. The ELT preserve trails are all generally easy to follow with colored markers on the trees. There are a total of five caches in this series, each in its own preserve: James Glen, Tiley Pratt Pond, Windswept Ridge, Fern Ledge, and Heron Pond. The whole series could probably be completed in 4-5 hours, if you’re so inclined. Have fun!

Trail Notes- no loop trail that I’m aware of. From the parking area, a short walk through the meadow brings you into the woods; follow the yellow markers to the cache and back. The trail splits but doesn't matter which you choose. For you letterboxers, I happened upon one in here, right next to the trail, while resting on a nearby rock.
