Go Fish Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, or you have neglected to do necessary maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Multi that starts at the TRAIL HEAD just off of a parking lot/grassy area and continues along a mowed trail out in the marsh. Mostly flat terrain but some slopes & some holes. Will be muddy after rain.

The final stage contains items for Emergency use: Bandaids, Wet Ones Wipes, Rain Bonnet, Emergency Blanket, Chapstick, unopened Tums, unopened Childrens' Aspirin, Sewing Kit, Folding Scissors. If you need any of these items along this particular hike, please feel free to avail yourself of them, but do note in your online Log what you took so that the next Cachers to come along might bring a replacement as their Trade Item. And, if you all keep me up-to-date on the contents, I'll be able to help replenish it as well from time-to-time.

The given coords are for the first stage of this 3-part Multi. The coords for the 2nd stage will be inside the initial container (as well as the coords for a Westward turn along the trail). The 2nd container will contain the coords for the final stage.

Stage 1 is now a LEAF-CAMOED TUBE, about 3" long by 5/8" across. It is difficult to see, so you will need to search. Stage 1 contains a Log which gives you the Coords for a WESTWARD TURN as well as for the Stage 2 container.

There is a pen inside the final cache only, but I never trust when pens make up their minds to loose ink, so be prepared with your own pen or pencil.

I also recommend that you consider bringing Water Bottle/Canteen, binoculars, camera, and maybe a walking stick. And I heartily suggest wearing long pants, hiking shoes & hat for sun cover....you WILL be out in the sun...no shade along the trail.

Do take time to enjoy the hike, view the surroundings, keep your eyes peeled to see wildlife. At the final stage you might have the opportunity to watch a Travis AFB C-5 as it lumbers across the big open sky over head, or you might see an Amtrak train charging by on the tracks to your West. Oh, by the way, LISTEN....what do you hear? (Ah, a song cue if I ever heard of one: "The Sounds of Silence")...or maybe just the song of a nearby bird. Time: 45-60 minutes (or longer is you like to gawk at sights or snap scenery photos).

This area no longer has any active caches. And that's just sad, as this is a place to be enjoyed. In fact, the City of Suisun has actually put out a sign along the Marina pointing out the area. May this 3-part Multi Cache help bring folks out to enjoy this lovely part of God's beautiful creation. This place is special to me because my First Cache FIND was A Clean Fish is a Good Fish, which was located right near my starting coords. Also, out there along that trail was where I found my First TRAVEL BUG.

PARKING: Unless you really do want to pay the $5 Parking Fee for the Boat Launch's lot, be wary of which slot you park in inside this lot…most, but not all, slots are marked for PERMIT ONLY. Better still, if you don't mind extending your walking time a bit, there are Public Parking Lots on Kellog Street (near Athenian Grill and Bab's Delta Diner) and even more just West of the Harbor.

RESTROOMS: there is a building in this parking lot which houses a couple of public restrooms. And just so you know, there are also some Port-A-Potties near the Harbor.

After Stage 3 you need to turn around and retrace your steps because the deceptively tramped "path" ahead actually goes no where. It ends a little further up, and there will be a creek in between you & the orignal trail you'd started out on. I apologize that it's not one big loop for you; that would've been sooo much nicer.
