Geocache Description:

North Bay used to host a Surface-to-Air missile unit in the 1960s to defend Canada against the Soviet bomber threat. The 28 BOMARC missiles located in North Bay were nuclear tipped. This cache is located near the buildings which housed the missiles. The buildings belong to Canadore College and still stand today, even though they are a “little” rusty.

There is no need to go over any fences.

For more information on this site please refer to the following website: (visit link) under miscellaneous and see number 16. Canada's Bomarc Squadrons.

Go to the BOMARC 2 geocache in town to see a BOMARC missile.
