Like many of the caches on Box Springs, the ranger station at the top is a good parking spot. Dropping a few bucks at the gate is nice to do.
Riverside Raceway opened 9/22/57 and remained an internationally known track until it's death in 1989 due to urban sprawl. There was some goings on after that, ie a driving school and some other small activities, but not very long.
The last NASCAR race was in the summer of 1988.
