This cache has been archived.

Aopaq: I have had to archive this cache now that it has gone missing and I am no longer able to maintain it. I thank all of those who previously searched for, and found it, and I hope my geocache provided you with the opportunity to see a part of Xiamen you would otherwise not have visited.

Happy caching!!

Geocache Description:

The cache is located just off the top of a hill at an elevation of about 308 feet, next to a nearby rest area. The trail up to the area is very easy with steps. To get to the cache you must go only a short distance down a rough side trail.

The cache is in a small Tupperware type container wrapped in brown packing tape. It contains a notebook, pencil, some coins from Macau, Thailand and Iran (I think) and a Canada flag lapel pin.

To get to the site go along the road to the temples (the area is called Guanyinsi) which joins in with Jiahe Lu just north of the SM shopping center. The entrance to Guanyinsi is marked by a big Chinese gate.
If you follow the road you can access three lovely and relatively new temples which are often quite busy on the weekend. You need to locate the "staircase" heading up the hill and be sure to take the first right. There is not much here except some big marble slabs and a nice built up platform area. It appears the marble slabs will be used to post some artwork or perhaps some sort of commemorations in the near future.

The cache is accessed via a small trail heading off from the developed rest area.
