The Steam Engine No. 2500 has a long history in Centralia, IL The 2500 has logged more than a million miles for the railroad. The 2500 engine is one of 56 steam locomotives of its type built. No. 2500 was rebuilt in 1937 at Paducah, KY from another steam engine No. 2953. The engine weighs 225-tons. They moved the 2500 to it present location on September 8, 1962. This year marks the engine's 61st year in Fairview Park. Come by and enjoy it.
