Geocache Description:

By logging this cache you will be awarded 1 point on the summit league table on www.summitcaching.org.uk

Cache placed on a wintery day on what is recognised as the summit of Kinder Scout (636m).

Lets go Summitcaching!!!!!!!!

Kinder Scout is the highest mountain in the Peak District, which is thought to be the second most visited national park in the world.
There are 3 trig points around the edge of Kinder Scout but not one of them mark the summit. The trig point at Kinder Low (633m), being the highest of the trig points is often regarded as the summit for the sake of 3m. However there is a cairn which marks the actual summit (636m) and its only a few hundred metres onto the plateau from Kinder Low trig.
Kinder designated as a Marilyn, Hewitt, HuMP, County Top and a Nuttall.

Warning: Only attempt this cache if you have sound experience with a map and compass. There is no path to the summit cairn. The Kinder platau is massive and in poor weather, which is usually the case, its all too easy to become disorientated.
