Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted location. Solve the puzzle to determine the cache location.

I have always liked Math word problems. My classmates would typically groan when the teacher would assign them. In fact I can already hear many of you groaning already. Fear not, just dive in and take the challenge.

A youngster has some quantities of various colored marbles. Your task is to determine how many of which colors this youngster owns using the following clues. Using the quantities of these colors, you will learn the coordinates for the cache.

  1. Eight times the number of aqua colored marbles plus nineteen times the number of blue colored marbles plus five times the number of fuchia colored marbles plus eight times the number of ebony colored marbles is equal to one hundred seventeen plus the number of coral colored marbles plus ten times the number of driftwood colored marbles.
  2. The number of fuchia colored marbles plus fifty-seven plus four times the number of blue colored marbles is equal to five times the number of driftwood colored marbles plus the number of coral colored marbles plus two times the number of ebony colored marbles.
  3. Two times the number of driftwood colored marbles plus two times the number of coral colored marbles plus nine times the number of fuchia colored marbles is equal to fifteen times the number of ebony colored marbles plus twenty-six.
  4. Five times the number of driftwood colored marbles plus seven times the number of ebony colored marbles plus two times the number of fuchia colored marbles is equal to one hundred thirty.
  5. Five times the number of fuchia colored marbles plus twenty-five plus seven times the number of ebony colored marbles is equal to five times the number of driftwood colored marbles.
  6. Nineteen times the number of ebony colored marbles plus five times the number of driftwood colored marbles plus three times the number of fuchia colored marbles is equal to one hundred ninety-five.

Remember that the usual operator precedence is implied in the problem above. Multiplication takes precedence over addition. Two plus five times green is five times green plus two. It isn't seven times green.
The coordinates are at:
N 41° 57.(aqua times blue times coral); W 091° 31.(driftwood times ebony times fuchia)

I didn't contrive or fudge the numbers in any way. This is just the way it turned out. You will understand once you have solved for the coordinates. Dust off those old high school Algebra books.
Congrats to JW for the FTF.
