Geocache Description:

You can often see Mallards and Hooded Mergansers on the nearby pond if you approach quietly. Watch for bicyclists, hikers, dog walkers and the occasional horse rider. Dogs on leash please.BYOP( Bring your own pencil)

The Larry Scott Trail is part of the greenway known as the Larry Scott Memorial Park. In 1988 a group of enthusiastic bicyclists formed the Peninsula Trails Coalition to reclaim the abandoned railway as a bike/hike/or horse trail spanning the north Olympic Peninsula. When Larry died in 1991 of cancer, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners named the park in honor of one of the main founders. The trail is now 6 miles long with the hopes of soon becoming 8. Enjoy the lovely view and pleasant walk/ride along the Port Townsend waterfront.
