Please leave cache site EXACTLY as you found it for the next cacher and tread lightly, nothing needs to be picked, pulled up, pulled off, etc. to find this one.
We appreciate more of a challenge than finding the standard 35mm film canister jammed into a tree hollow. We were creative when we designed this cache. We had some spare parts that we put together to create the container. You better bring a big bag of your "geosense" when looking for this one.
Best parking is at N 40° 05.988 W 085° 38.063 and yeilds about a .6 mile hike. Parking can also be found at N 40° 06.205' W 085° 39.193' but the terrain is more challenging and the hike is slightly longer. If you park at either Edgewater park (N 40° 06.265' W 085 40.098') or at the end of Imel Drive (N 40° 06.159' W 085° 39.562'), the terrain is not as challenging but it is a MUCH longer but very enjoyable hike.
This cache has stood for 12 years now. It is rain proof, snow proof, storm proof, fire proof, bush-hog proof, lumberjack proof, flood proof, tornado proof and dare I say, I think it is even bomb proof. Find it and you will see what I mean. Don’t ask me in the future for proof that it is there. It is. It will not go anywhere by itself. You will either find it or it is out of your league.
The City of Anderson Parks Department used to maintain this site by keeping it mowed down. In recent years, they have not mowed. Expect tall veg at GZ. I have never experienced poison ivy, stinging nettle, rose bushes, wild raspberries, etc. at GZ. There is plenty of that in this open space park but not at GZ, you should be safe and comfortable.
