Lefroy Brook Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Carnage: I have taken away this cache as the sign is scaring cachers. It was put there to stop the fruit picking backpackers that were living down in the campsite by the waterfall.
Easier just to remove.
Will probably rehide one by the bridge.

Geocache Description:

A small plastic box full of goodies hidden at a historic spot on the Lefroy Brook.

***NOTE*** Keep out sign is there for people illegally camping not for visiting the site!*** The site for this cache on the Lefroy Brook was where a flour mill once stood to mill the wheat grown in the surrounding areas by the early settlers. It was turned by a water wheel fed by the Brook which flowed fast 12 months of the year. Dams upstream have seen the water level drop to a trickle in summer these days. They were able to grow the wheat with some success on the Jarrah land to the North and East of Manjimup. A large area of Karri country nearby was cleared for wheat growing but it failed to produce and the land was abandoned in 1870, this is now known as the "100 Year Old Forrest".
