Walk the Line Multi-Cache
fleurbleu: Der Final ist mittlerweile recht verkrautet. Ich habe die Box entfernt und werde den Cache archivieren. Zum einen, weil sich in der Tat nur wenige Leute auf den Weg machen. Das finde ich schade, da "Walk the Line" als ein etwas anderer Cache gedacht ist. Anyway. Zum anderen -- und das ist der Hauptgrund -- weil die Dorfschänke, als eigentliches Highlight der Tour bedauerlicher Weise dicht gemacht hat. Echt schade um den wirklich schönen Biergarten!

Ihr macht eine kleine "Sonntagsnachmittagswanderung",
locker geführt durch die ausgewählten Wegpunkte WP01 bis WP08.
Während der Wanderung seid ihr aufmerksam und findet die
auf den Fotos abgebildeten "Final Destinations" FD01 bis FD08.
Diese Locations werden von euch vermessen.
Bei WP08 habt ihr Gelegenheit, die Aufgaben A bis D zu lösen
und so die Koordinaten des Final zu bestimmen.
Anschließend beginnt Teil 2 des Caches, der mit den nun bekannten
Koordinaten exakt wie ein "Traditional" funktioniert...
Bei dem Cache legt ihr ordnungsgemäß eine Wegstrecke von ungefähr
7 km zurück (inklusive Final und Rückweg zum Startpunkt).
Um den Cache zu genießen, plant ihr am besten einen ganzen, oder
zumindest einen großzügig bemessenen halben Ausflugstag ein.
Bei meinem Testlauf hat es sich als vorteilhaft erwiesen,
die Fotos denjenigen Geschöpfen in die Hand zu drücken,
die jeden Erwachsenen mit Leichtigkeit in dem Spiel "Memory" besiegen.
Nicht bloß, dass die "Final Destinations" dadurch schon um einige
hundert Meter im Voraus gemeldet werden, sondern vor allem weil die
"Cacher der Zukunft" besonderen Spaß daran haben, die Suche
aktiv mitzugestalten.
Die Wegpunkte WP01 bis WP08 sind lediglich als Orientierung gedacht.
Die Wanderung folgt, wo möglich, immer dem Feld-, Forst- oder
Wanderweg. Ihr sollt euch also nicht etwa auf Luftlinie von Wegpunkt zu
Wegpunkt hangeln, sondern entspannt -- aber achtsam die Natur
genießen. (Dennoch liegen alle Wegpunkte direkt auf dem zu laufenden
Weg.)
Alle "Final Destinations" sind vom Weg aus zu sehen. Um sie zu
vermessen muss man den Weg (bis auf eine Ausnahme) garnicht oder nur
unwesentlich verlassen.
Als Hilfestellung ist noch folgendes zu sagen: Das Aussehen von
FD01 und FD02 variiert stark mit der Jahreszeit. Besonders FD02
kann bei starker Vegetation unsichtbar werden. Der erste und zweite
verschlüsselte Hinweis gilt übrigens FD01 und FD02. Ausserdem liegen
die "Final Destinations" in der Reihenfolge ihrer Nummerierung nach
am Weg.
An allen Stellen, wo es unvermeidlich ist, den Weg zu verlassen,
bitte ich um den erforderlichen Respekt vor Landwirtschaftsflächen.

Hier sind die Aufgaben, mit denen ihr die fehlenden Ziffern A, B, C und D
der Koordinaten des Finals errechnen könnt:
A: Multipliziere die Entfernung zwischen FD01 und FD06 mit 4 und
runde das Produkt auf volle km und zwar: abrunden!
B: Runde die Entfernung zwischen FD02 und FD05 auf volle km
und zwar: kaufmännisch runden!
C: Runde die Entfernung zwischen FD03 und FD07 auf volle km
und zwar: kaufmännisch runden!
D: Subtrahiere 1 km von der Entfernung zwischen FD04 und FD08 und
runde die Differenz auf volle km und zwar: abrunden!

You'll go on a "sunday afternoon walk", loosely guided
by the waypoints WP01 to WP08. On the walk
you are observant and find the "final destinations"
FD01 to FD08 shown on the photos below.
For these locations you will take the GPS reading.
Arrived at WP08 you have good opportunity to
answer the questions A to D thus determining the
coordinates of the final.
Afterwards part 2 of the cache starts. Which -- now having
the coordinates of the final exactly works like a
"traditional"...
Walking the line properly, you will move a distance of
approximately 7 km (inclusive final and way back to the
starting point). To enjoy the cache, you should plan a full
or at least a half day of excursion.
Testing the walk it appeared to be benefitial handing the
photos out to that kind of persons which overwhelm any
adult player in the game "memory". Not only that the
"final destinations" are announced hundreds of yards ahead,
but first of all because the "cachers of the future" enjoy
active participation in the hunt.
The waypoints WP01 to WP08 are merely thought as an orientation.
Where possible, the walk follows always a cart- and forest track,
or walking trail. So you must not walk straight from waypoint to
waypoint as the crow flies. You should enjoy the nature but
be observant! (Nevertheless all waypoints are lying diectly
on the way to move.)
All "final destinations" are visible out of the way. In order to
take the GPS reading, you don't need to leave the track (with
one exception).
The following information may assist you: The appearance of FD01
and FD02 varies strongly with the seasons. Especially FD02 may
become invisible with strong vegetation. By the way, the first
additional hint concerns FD01 and the second concerns FD02.
Furthermore the "final destinations" are met in the sequence of
their numbering.
Where ever it is unavoidable to leave the way you are asked for
the necessary respect for agricultural areas.

Calculating the following exercises A, B, C, and D
you will find out the coordinates of the cache (all
units metric):
A: Mulitply the distance between FD01 and FD06 by 4 and
round the product to entire km, namely: round down!
B: Round the distance between FD02 and FD05 to entire km.
C: Round the distance between FD03 and FD07 to entire km.
D: Subtract 1 km from the distance between FD04 and FD08 and
round the difference to entire km, namely: round down!
