Geocache Description:

Yup, it's here, the last COG event of the season , and by showing up"You'll Log" a great event!  .

It's being held Mon Dec 29 2008 at 6:30 at your favourite haunt and mine, "Sticky Fingers Bar & Grill, at 199 Essa Rd in Barrie, and there'll be good food, good friends, and a few new caches planted especially for the event.

Rumour even has it that the new 2009 COG coin may make an appearance - so be the first on your block to own one!

And oh yes, you know that hideous piece of tat your loving Aunt Martha is bound to give you - my gosh she's a sweet old lady but her taste is in her elbow - well bring it along!  We're going to have a re-gift exchange! Yep, bring that sweater with 3 arms, that lovely plastic mermaid bar lamp or that barely-used beta video machine because here's your chance to get rid of it! Wrap it up good - Christmas paper, birthday paper, newspaper - heck we don't care! But oh, just think, someone's gonna be surprised. But then again, so will you! Because you're gonna take away someone else's crap! Yes indeedy! Guaranteed laughs and jocularity all around, and who knows? You might get something you like... Good for the environment, good for you, and good for Aunt Martha, too.

So come one, come all, just let us know how many in yer party so we can arrange room for you all. Bring your geocoins, or any old travel bugs that have been gathering dust and trade 'em away -start the new year with a brand new pile!

Get your fingers wrapping and we'll see you at The Sticky!

"THE CACHE AFTER CHRISTMAS

"
"Twas quiet after Christmas and all through the land
Not a creature was stirring, except for a band
Of cachers all racing to an event really fastly
To get rid of their loot both hideous and ghastly.
Isabella was ready with a gleam in her eye
While Columbus anguished over choice of a tie.
She ran out the door "C'mon, don't be picky!
Everyone's already down at The Sticky!
Have you forgotten, we're hosting this time?
So put down the plaid and go with the lime!"
So into the car and away with a roar
We tore to the restaurant and threw open the door
At the top of our lungs over the clatter of dishes
We yelled at the gathering throng "Merry Fishes!"
Then out came the TB's, coins by the score
A whole jangling pile with a great metal roar.
All flung on the table with rousing good cheer
And I collared a waitress and bellowed for beer.
The fun soon began with friends and with chatter
And salads and fiery wings and huge burger platters.
There was talk of finds past and those yet to come
Of sweat and the labour but mostly the fun
While hints flew about the room in a storm
To brain-wrenching caches of frustrating form
And talk of new micros fresh for the season
Made to test sanity; scramble your reason
In a hollowed out stone, or in an old stick
They could only be hidden by jolly St. Nick!
Yonder the good Cap'n & Cookie his mate
Scribbled madly at a paper on top of his plate.
"To work me this hard, 'tis surely not legal!"
(Sure enough he was puzzling a cache by Der Beagle).
Juicepiglet held forth on the Wherigo Way
While dad nodded sagely and added his say.
And IsqubaAndNawty and Lisdowney exchanged plans
Of where to hide caches which were always at hand.
The food then all done, it was into the cold
To search for a cache a bare hour old.
Snow's comin' down, hope it's no nano!
And my gosh the bike tracks! (Could only be dano!).
The caches were nestled all snug in their trees
Hidden away from any stray breeze
And AC & Paprika & Brook22 And Kevings &Snowbunneez knew what to do.
Out came the flashlights whose beams probed around
All beat out by TOMTEC whose monster actually made sound!
They searched high and low till the rascal was found
And whispered and giggled and gathered around.
They opened the log, then let out a roar!
When they discovered FTF had already been scored!
How could it be? Man they were sore!
For Filk had just found it 20 minutes before!
Is he a wizard? They saw no-one leaving
But as they all stared down at the log disbelieving
A low hollow laugh came soft through the night
"Merry fishes to all, and to all a good night!"
