Geocache Description:

Gateway to Gordon Country


The 4th cache in the "Gordon Country Series"

Placed right next to the Gladfield truck stop and driver reviver station.
It is hidden near the turn off to both the Goomburra
State Forest and the Gordon Country Camping Grounds.

Warning, the first place most people search is incorrect
and it has been nick named "the abode of 100 redback spiders" !!
So please look before you put your hands in a hole!

Cache container is a 1.2 litre Sistema type,
and is located near a busy road, so keep an eye on kids.

Road from Gladfield Truck Stop
to Gordon Country and Goomburra State Forest.

Gordon Country is one of our favourite bush camping spots
and happens to be close to at least 8 caches of varying difficulty.

The area is a working cattle and horse property that also caters for camping.
There is plenty of room to find a quiet spot on the 3000 acres.
It's great for families with kids, dogs allowed, open camp fires allowed.

But you don't have to camp in that location, you can simply make it a day trip.
Two other camping options are also available:
5 minutes before Gordon Country is a 4WD park.
And 5 minutes further along the road is the State Forestry camp grounds.
So there are plenty of options for everyone.
