Mission Impossible MK 1 : It’s a Killer
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
A potentially challenging Puzzle Cache set somewhere in or near Milton Keynes, within a few Furlongs of the reference point above.
Now that the clocks have shifted back one hour and its dark and cold, I thought I would set a series of Puzzle Caches to keep you all warm and usefully occupied in the evenings. The cache series is like a Chain. It will be possible to complete any cache in the series individually, but it will probably be much easier to solve them in order. A clue will be provided in each cache giving some help in solving the next one (or previous one) in the series. There will be a unique, personalised and exhilarating prize for the first Cacher to complete the Series.
The first step on this cache is to solve the Sudoku puzzle below. The target time for completion is 2 milli-Fortnights and I have used this rating to set the difficulty level of the cache.
The co-ordinates you need can be extracted from the completed Sudoku grid using the following code :
North 5 LJL LKH . KKLK HHJH KHJH
West (000) HJJHJ LJLK . LJLL LJL KLJJ
Seeing as it’s Firkin tricky and is the first cache in the Series, I have provided some clues below and have also placed some further clues in my other caches in and around Milton Keynes :
1 - Milestone Series - The Power of Numbers (GC1J15Y)
2 - Poohsticks on Speed (GC1ENR1)
3 - Cows, Roundabouts …. And Caches (GC1H2DX)
4 - Mission Impossible MK2 : Shenley Brook End (GC1JZ9A)
Note: when you arrive at the calculated location and find the initial cache container, a further challenge awaits you. It’s best to fully familiarize yourself with the archaic imperial units of measurement, some of which are mentioned on this cache page. Oh, and a Calculator may come in handy.
A Local Landmark - The Clock is Ticking
Well done to "We Do Checks and Cache " for a rapid FTF.
