Geocache Description:


Av Bryntahemmet finns nu endast stensättningarna efter gård och uthus kvar. Allt revs på 1940-talet. Bryntahem finns redan 1685 omnämt i jordeböcker. Nils Asp uppförde på 1820-talet ett högreståndshem och vid inflytten 1824 omfattade hushållet ett 30-tal personer. Det var ett boningshus omgivet av två flygelbyggnader. Runt boningshus och uthus fanns en parkliknande trädgård. Bäckens fåra var ledd genom trädgården och där fanns både dammar och vattenfall. Till gården hörde även såg, brännvinsbryggeri och en kvarn. Dessa anläggningar fanns vid ett tillflöde till Yan strax intill gården. Hur Nils Asp på så kort tid blivit så omåttligt rik har det spekulerats i, och ryktet förtäljer att hans affärer inte tålde närmare granskning. Ryktet gick om både smuggling, häleri och låneverksamhet. Det skulle funnits ett dolt gömställe för smuggelgods i trädgården. Källa Velingaboken utgiven av Velinga hembygdsförening 2007. Bryntahemmet was built 1824 by Nils Asp and torn down around 1946. There was a living house with two wings. Around the living houses was a garden like a park. The furrow of the brook was lead trough the garden and there was both ponds and waterfalls. A saw, a destillery and a mill belonged to the farm. These works was situated by a flow to Yan directly near the farm. How Nils Asp was enormous wealthy has been speculated in, and the rumour tells that his business not stood for close examination. The rumour told both smuggling, handling and loaning business. It should have been a hiding place for smuggle goods in the garden. See the photo as it once was.
