You are looking for a camo'd container along the roadside with room only for a log (BYOP). There is no "formal" parking and a lot of relatively new "no parking" signs. Park down the road a bit and take a short walk to avoid a ticket. Please reseal the cache and place it back in position to insure the camo is maintained.
This location used to have a completely different look and purpose. Just North of the cache location is the Manatee River and an old shell path to what used to be a great little place to launch kayaks and canoes. As the Rye Road bridge went up, we kept our fingers crossed that the launch would survive. Unfortunately, the launch has gone bye-bye.
Rye Wilderness Park, just around the corner on Rye Road, and Ray's Canoes, just up the hill to the West, are still great launch sites so don't give up on Manatee River paddling.
