Geocache Description:

Steep climb on Bartram Trail outside Franklin, NC. You are looking for a small, cammoed lock n' lock container.

This is another cache near or on the Bartram Trail in Macon County, NC. Beautiful area. Wonderful wildflowers in the spring and great views in the winter.

You can get to this cache beginning at the Bartram Trail head parking lot. There are two ways to go. The longest is to take the trail. The shorter is to take the gated logging road behind the Ruffed Grouse sign.

If you take the logging road, you will cross a small creek and then come to an intersection of logging roads. There is a Forest Service marker there with the numbers 7194A. Take the right fork and in about 150 feet you will see the yellow blazes for the Bartram Trail. Take the trail to the left. THen you will come to a small wooden bridge. This is where you begin the climb to the cache. Although the trail is a little steep, children will not have a hard time.

Pay close attention to the photos as they are hints and one photo shows where the cache is located.

Enjoy the hike. It's about one mile in and one mile out. The out part is downhill. You can stay on the trail and you will eventually come to Wayah Bald. There is a great cache at Wayah Bald and another on the Bartram Trail at William's Pulpit. There are several caches in this area.

Good hunting!
