Geocache Description:

On a reserve, adjacent to the 16th hole of the TTG golf course

The original Tea Tree Gully golf course was located at Vista. There were 9 holes, some of which criss-crossed each other. The first 18 hole layout was completed mainly by voluntary labour in 1952. In 1956 a larger clubhouse was built and members were asked to contribute an extra 10 shillings or a bag of cement. In 1958 the club bought the present property for twenty thousand pounds and again with a lot of voluntary help, the 18 hole course was ready for playing in July 1959. Extensive development of the course and clubhouse facilities has occurred since that time to create one of South Australia’s finest golfing and social locations. This is one of 3 caches located in reserves around and adjacent to the TTG golf course. All 3 can be found by walking or bike riding around the course. You can walk around the outside of the course in about a half an hour, but you will need additional time to find the 3 caches. You should not go into the golf course to find any of the 3 caches. The 16th Hole (par 4) 340m OOB all down the right, with plenty of room to the left to the adjoining fairway. The long narrow green has a ridge running diagonally across it and two putting from any distance is always acceptable. (If you do a massive slice from the tee, you might be able to reach the cache).
