Geocache Description:

This cache is in a remote part of West Virginia about 20 miles southwest of Clarksburg and about 1.5 miles South of Meathouse Fork Road on Birch Run (County Highway 25/12.) All but the last 1.5 miles can be driven to by regular car, otherwise a 4x4 maybe needed, hence the 4 star rating for terrain.

This cache is located at the southern most end of Birch Run Road. It is best to arrive from the North or Meathouse Fork Road. Birch Run is county road 25/12 (believe it or not) therefore access is public. The road looks like a poorly maintained dirt path or someone's long driveway. You can walk it or drive with a 4x4. You will pass a hunter's cabin about 1/2 way down Birch Run. Keep going, the road gets worse. You will know when you get to the cache location when you see small, old, abandoned and decaying farm buildings on your right.

Note the red brick building. The cache is located inside, you will have to jump across a small creek to get to the cache which can be done without getting wet feet.

See the gallery for pictures, the cache container has changed to a lock n lock.

Commentary: This is a very remote and abandoned location. There is no one living in the immediate area (except hideous Ogars.) Cell phones don't work in the valleys but do work on hill tops. The nearest residence is back at Meathouse Fork Road. This isn't a difficultly hidden cache, the challenge is getting to it.
